Controversial Artist Talks Broadway Hip hop music sensation Kanye West has not given many interviews preferring to communicate through his blog, but recently he did give an interview in Singapore where he describes the quality of song on his new album as “Broadway-esque.” In this YouTube clip , you can see the musical artist discussing his work and and even singing a Broadway version of his song Heartless. According to West, “the melodies on this new album are very classic and Broadway-esque.” With the critical success of Stew in Passing Strange last season, and the acclaimed musical In The Heights still wowing crowds, the Broadway musical has expanded into new frontiers, could this mean that Kanye will bring his hip-hop “pop art” style to Broadway?
